I must say that I get a lot of compliments on my drum sound, especially from drummers. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from that because like many, tuning drums has been a difficult task to master for me. I wouldn’t even call myself a master – but more like a journeyman, who has spent so much time experimenting and evaluating results that I got better at it naturally. Especially what I think is the most overlooked element of the drumkit: The toms. I’ll get to the kick drum and snare later.
