Greetings all! Lots of you closest to the band know already, but wanted to make the announcement officially how honored we are to have been placed on the 57th Annual Grammy Awards ballot in the "Best Rock Performance" category for our song, "Make Up Your Mind". Although it didn't make the final ballot of five, it is quite an honor to have been in the running against the major label acts. [ 51 more words. ]

Blistur Nation Well.. To clarify, we made the initial cut to be placed on the ballot out of 30,000 or so submissions. Then they whittle to top five, which is what you see on tv where they select one winner from those five. We did not make the top five, but we're honored to have gotten that far as a non major label act.

Hay lets get some news on Chris. How's he doing? Does he need anything? What's up?

Blistur Nation He is doing ok. Surgery went well and he is home. Has pain from the surgery itself, but that was expected. No shooting pain down the leg tho which is great news..

Hi everyone,

Some of you may or may not know that, for a very long time, I've struggled with nerve damage in my lower back. I've had several types of surgeries to fix the problem including lumbar laminectomy in 1995, nerve blocks, cryo-freezes, facet joint blocks and any other nerve blocking procedure you can think of, as well as an infusion pump implanted in my abdomen and a electric stimulator on implanted in my side.

Yes, when I'm playing on stage, right behind my guitar, in my abdomen, resides an implanted pain pump.

Now it's 20 years later and next Monday (Jan 12th) I will undergo yet another surgery on my back. This time they will put a titanium rod where there used to be bone and hopefully it will give me some relief without having to depend on the pump, the stimulator and medication.

My main point to this post is to let everyone know that Blistur will be taking a few weeks off so I can heal properly.

I want to personally thank my band brothers Neal Gupton and Dom Berti for their understanding and agreeing to take the time off for this.

We still have a few more shows to do before the 12th:

Blistur tonight at World Famous BULL Tavern for steak night.

Wednesday night I am playing with some old friends for a "reunion" show, (Herd Of Turtles) at Cheers Park Avenue.

Friday and Saturday night Blistur returns to Mercury Moon in Fleming Island.

Sunday we will have one last show at The Bayard Rooster.

Then Monday I go under the knife.

I really appreciate all of you for supporting Blistur over the years. This is our livelihood and we simply could not keep doing this without the friends and fans that we have in you.

Please be sure to check out all of the other great local bands while we take a break.

No worries, Blistur WILL be back as we are booked for most of this year already. Just pop in that Blistur Fear Itself CD if you need a Blistur fix! :)

I will post the schedule for the next few months before I have surgery.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Blistur :)
