BLISTUR RELEASING THE NEW CD ON MAY 4, 2013!

Happy Spring Blistur Nation! It took a little longer than expected due to the sheer workload of shows we have had, but we are finally able to announce that our newest musical endeavor titled, “Fear Itself” will be released in hard copy on May 4th. We’ll be having a big blowout party at the Roadhouse on Blanding Blvd in Orange Park, FL that night and if you have your ‘golden ticket’ from the Jackyl show you may redeem it here to get yours for free! If not, fear not because we want to get the new music in your hands anyway and the cost will be only $5.00. It is the least we can do for you! The new songs on the disc are going to surprise you we think. The sound of the band is getting really defined at this point and really unique. Songs like “Fear Itself” and “Shadow” are more of an epic experience than a 3 minute drive by of verse, chorus, repeat.

Make your plans to attend the release on May 4th and get your copy hot off the press! We’ll be tuning up for a great original show for you as well including dancing bears, monkeys and trapeze artists.*

Also stay tuned to this site or through our facebook page at www.facebook.com/blistur for more goodies between now and then including one or two special sneak preview radio spins of the CD that you can tune into. Can’t wait for you to hear it!

*The whole dancing bear/monkey/trapeze thing is a total lie

Mixing Phase!

New CD is in the mixing phase! Won’t be long now! We won’t have time for an official CD release show before leaving for Daytona to perform at Bike Week 2013, so look for a show in late March or so. Meanwhile, be on the lookout for some announcements of where to tune in for some possible sneak preview plays on DX Radio in Jacksonville and The Shop in Dallas, TX. Think you’re gonna like the new stuff. It’s deep! Happy Valentines and rock HARD y’all!

WE ARE GETTING CLOSE!

Hey Blistur Nation… just a quick note to say that our newest musical endeavor, “Fear Itself” is oh so close to release. We have a couple of guitar leads and then it is on to mixing and mastering. But there is a lot more to it than that. There is artwork, liner notes, bar codes, distribution, CD release concert to schedule, new merchandise, etc. Continue reading

Drum Tuning Tutorial Part I

Drum tuning Part OneBy: Neal Gupton

I must say that I get a lot of compliments on my drum sound, especially from drummers. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from that because like many, tuning drums has been a difficult task to master for me. I wouldn’t even call myself a master – but more like a journeyman, who has spent so much time experimenting and evaluating results that I got better at it naturally. Especially what I think is the most overlooked element of the drumkit: The toms. I’ll get to the kick drum and snare later. The toms are first and can make you a better drummer if you get a better sound. Continue reading
